Don't Like Change

     I tried to log into my Star-fish blog and it kept saying that I couldn't access it. It also noted a "New Blogger!" format to come that everyone will eventually have to use. I clicked "revert to old format," or something like that, and I was back! Oh, how I wish there was a "revert to the old days" button on life currently.      The news recently noted that we were running out of "change" or coins. I think we are up to our eyeballs in "change," but not the metal-type. I don't like change; it takes too much effort to convert. If pushing the "revert to the old days" button were to work, we could be hanging out with family and friends. Traveling near and far. Eating out at numerous types of establishments and enjoying various entertainment venues.      But as I mentioned to a friend today, maybe God is allowing this isolation so we are forced to focus on Him for our conversation, provision, protection, and comfort. ...

Wearing Masks

     I'm not sure why, but wearing a mask has been a trial for me. One day, while asking for help at a retail store, I couldn't hear what the young associate was saying to me. Finally, I joked, "I'm sorry, I can't hear you, I'm wearing a mask!" He looked at me funny for a minute and then it registered and he laughed. Another older woman nearby overheard me and said, "Me too!"      After thinking about the struggle I was having communicating with others, while we were all wearing masks, I realized much of communication is reading another person's facial expressions. I also, have discovered that I read lips in noisy environments and that is out of the question now. My reading glasses fog up when I wear the mask and try to look at prices and directions on items at the store as well. So not only don't I "hear" well, I can't "see" either when wearing a mask!
