Consequences of Choices
A friend texted me to let me know that she and her family were thinking of me, due a Netflix series that they watched (Virgin River), and one of the characters (Mel) reminded them of me. So while at my aunt's home, we watched a couple of these shows (I didn't see any resemblance). But I liked what another character, Hope, said to Mel, "I make choices and I live with the consequences." It's kind of sad that this idea is so foreign today. That this concept used to be the rule, not the exception. We lived by our words, some even died by them. God is a God who gives us an opportunity to make our own choices. I made many choices before and after becoming a Christian believer that led to less than ideal consequences, but who could I blame? At times, I tried to soothe my soul by pointing fingers at others when bad things occurred due to my bad choices. I inferred that I would have handled things differently, if it wasn't for someone else...
