Being Creative

I love being creative, but I'm so messy at it! I get started making things and can't stop! Stuff gets everywhere! I have friends who are creative and they are so neat about it. Nice little piles here and things put away over there.      My dog loves when I really get into a project. She thinks all the stuff laying around is perfect for hiding her toys in. Soon I hear digging and barking and she's absolutely made a mess of my messes! We must have something in common; we play best when we are in a mess.      What is not so fun is the next day, when I look around my hobby room and there is mayhem galore. I slowly begin, in one section of the room, and work my way around putting things away. I know...if I just put it away as I went, it wouldn't get so bad. But alas, that just isn't my way. Cleaning as I go seems to stifle my creativity. Yes, it sounds like an excuse, but I'm either playing or working. My brain just doesn't do creating and ...

Time is Running Out

As I sat in the small, quiet room, I could hear my Timex watch ticking away. A thought came to my mind... How many people die every second around the world? According to www.ecology.com, "nearly two people die each second." It is troubling to think of all the seconds that I waste each day. So essentially, two people are added to the global population every second. The World Population Clock on www.worldometers.inform/world-population noted that so far in 2018 there are approximately 7.6 billion people in the world.      As a Christian, my heartfelt desire is that all these individuals will give their lives over to Jesus Christ. That one day, when their seconds are up, they will have asked Chri...

Devil in Our Backyard

Image
Yesterday, after most of the ladies attending a Bible study in our home left, we had a huge dust-devil in our backyard that tossed a chair right toward our large dining room window. Fortunately, our huge Bougainvillea bush "caught it" and stopped it from connecting with the glass. Our pool alligator took to the wind, breaking its tether to the pool vacuum, and headed to the parking lot on the other side of our wall. Before myself and a friend, Dawn, could get to it, some guys in a golf cart took off with it. Dawn, tenaciously ran them down, waving her arms and yelling, “Hey, that’s our alligator!” Finally, a passing hero heard her cries and rescued "Al" from the absconding men and drove him back to her in his golf cart!       Ironically, I had been praying that the Bougainvillea would somehow get cut down as it blocked my view of the out-of-doors from my desk window. My husband, though, is the yard man and he wanted it to grow...
