Saved

     I was working on a computer program and had not saved my writing. Of course this was about the time I got curious about a button on the screen I hadn't noticed before. I pushed the button and poof my screen disappeared! After some unkind words and thoughts, then asking God for forgiveness for my wayward words and thoughts, I hit the "escape" button since now I had the spinning wheel. The "escape" button took me back to my previous screen, but none of the information I had typed  was there. I had to start over from the beginning.      It struck me, if you are not "saved" you keep going back to your old ways, no matter how hard you try to "escape" them. Being "saved" changes everything. You no longer have to sit by waiting for your life to spin out of control. Once you call on Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins, come into your life and be your Savior and Lord, your soul is saved from an eternal life void of God. Your past ...

Eternity with God

     During a long conversation with a friend yesterday, we both lamented the direction in which our world is going. She said she had to stop watching as much news since it was causing her to lose hope. I have another friend that has banished news from her home for years for similar reasons. But as Christians we must not despair, since our Savior and Lord offers us Good News! The good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.      As Billy Graham noted in his book, Hope for Each Day , on page 368, "By a simple prayer of faith ask Christ into your life right now. He will come in, and you will be born again!" This second birth is not of your flesh, but of your spirit. You are making a choice to follow God as your one and only god, believing He sent His Son as a living sacrifice for your sins. You didn't choose your first birth, but you can choose your second, and this spiritual rebirth leads to everlasting life in heaven: eternity with God.      Th...
