Hell is not a Reality Show
Today our pastor preached in Revelations on Hell (Hades and The Lake of Fire). It's interesting how society has trivialized Hell as being a place of debauchery and partying. It is no such place! It is where the souls, that are separated from God due to their lack of faith in Christ Jesus His Son, will go to live eternity in darkness so thick it can be felt, heat so hot it burns the lungs, but doesn't not kill the spirit. NO ONE, not your worst enemies, should end up there, but they will because they think for some reason that it is a "cool" place.
Satan works on us through subtle lies, white lies, long tales, even "friendly" jokes to think that Hell isn't the bad place Christians make it out to be. He helps us get mired in the world through advertising and media that tell us we deserve more, so we are never content. We become dissatisfied with our lives, marriages, body images, and even family members because they don't make us "happy." Those around us don't get that "it's all about us" because they are thinking, "it's all about them"! All of this self-centeredness keeps us from contemplating the important issues in life such as God, the poor, the widows and orphans.
It's a slippery slope, this world of ours, if we do not bend our knees in prayer every day...we'll end up on our knees crawling back to God from places we did not have the strength to avoid without the armor of God protecting us and we are the saved! How do those that don't have the Holy Spirit within them navigate this ever corroding society? Jesus Christ is the only way. Are we leading them to Christ or away because "we want it our way"?KT

The Rome Colosseum is a reminder of what lengths

Revelations 20: 11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
BEAUTIFULLY written as always! :) So honored to be your friend! :)
ReplyDeleteThat last sentence really made me think about pushing those away, which I sometimes do with sisters, because I want it my way. Thanks Kate. I want them closer to the Lord, not further.
ReplyDeleteWow! well said. I have an uncle who thinks that hell is here on earth. I have shared the Truth with him in the past but have not followed up to see where he is now spiritually. I am going to follow up.
ReplyDeletePraise God for you girls and your support!
