The Cross

This morning while I was outside playing ball with my dog, my spirit became critical about a person in my life. As I threw the ball toward our back gate an image of a white cross appeared to be shining on the gate. It reminded me of when you look at a bright light and close your eyes and the image seems to be shining on your closed eyelids. So I blinked a few times to see if it was something off the shape of the gate and I didn't see it again.
Then the Holy Spirit seemed to remind me, in my mind, that the cross was for all, even the person I was having critical thoughts about. He reminded me that He went to the cross for the sins of all, not just me and that it wasn't my place to entertain such thoughts about others. Wow! That was vivid and personal! I can still picture the white cross in my mind's eye.
But the other thought that followed later, about the cross, was a story a friend told me about sitting with her friend in an office full of crucifixes. She noted that Jesus was hanging on the cross all over the room. In our Christian belief system, Christ did die for our sins on The Cross and suffered terribly on our behalf, but He also rose again after 3 days in the tomb and lives today working as an intercessory on our behalf with God. He's our middleman and we need no other. And He's not still hanging on the cross, if He were we'd never be able to be saved from our sins. Because only in Him overcoming death do we have the hope of eternity in heaven. Amen and Thank You Lord. KT

John 20: 24 Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
