Maturing Christian
Our pastor preached on Ephesians 4 this morning and specifically our need as Christians to grow and mature in Christ. To have the goal of our lives to become more Christlike in our words, actions and deeds. He asked us whether we were more mature Christians today than we were last year or ten years ago. He asked whether what we did we did to keep the law or to show love to God and others.
It's interesting as I'm taking a study that I took six years ago with Beth Moore on the Book of Daniel. I can tell by my answers then compared to now that God has been doing a work in me. The edge and bitterness that was in my statements in the study guide before are not the same words I'm writing now in response to Beth's questions. The feeling I have in my heart now is not the same as it was six years ago. Did I make those changes myself? No, but through being humbled by God over the last six years, He's worked in me through the Holy Spirit a new heart and a new love for Him and for others. KT

I was at the zoo the other day with my friends and we got to get up close to these giraffes. They were such gentle giants. I believe God would call us to be gentle giants in the faith.
Ephesians 4:14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
