Victory over Death
Easter has become a pagan celebration of new life through symbols of spring, such as baby animals and flowers. Or a commercial celebration of Easter may have a bunny bringing colored eggs, candies and toys to boys and girls. But the actual Easter is a celebration of resurrection over death. Christ Jesus died and three days latter rose again, He's alive! He's our Savior and Lord. Celebrate Christ today, believe in Him and what He did on the cross by suffering for our sins on the Cross. Those who believe, have faith in Christ, will have victory over death and one day spent eternity in heaven with God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
Although coloring eggs and eating chocolate rabbits, isn't a sin, make certain it doesn't distract you from the One who died for you and me and deserves our praises and gratefulness today.
Luke 24: 1 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” 8 Then they remembered his words.I Corinthians 15:54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”[h]
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I Peter 1: 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
