After the rain...

My fascination with rainbows has been long-lived. In my college dorm room, I once counted over 200 rainbow decorations whether cards sent from others, cups or even towels. In my early thirties, I went through a difficult time and was feeling severely depressed and unhappy. One night during that time I had a dream, one I can remember even now quite vividly.
My dream started with me looking off in the distance at a pastel rainbow. As I stood watching it, it became brilliant in colors and light. I said in the dream, "It's Jesus. Jesus is coming!" Suddenly, I was clothed in a white rob and tassels hung off the bottom of my robe. I began to life up into the sky and the tassels seem to hold presents in the shape of boxes. The boxes began to fall away as I lifted up and I tried to catch them and hang onto them and I heard, "Let go of them." I sensed that they were worries and the cares of the world and as I released them and stood upright; I felt a sense of peace like no other. It was as if I was free, burdens completely lifted.
That dream has come back to my memory over the years as problems have piled up. It helps me stop and realize this is not my home. One day, I will be with Jesus enjoying the rainbow of light that surrounds Him and I won't have a single care in the world.
My friend, Helen, wrote the following script on April 30, 2012 that reminded me of this precious dream:
God sits on his throne in heaven and there is a rainbow resembling an emerald surrounding the throne.  He had the appearance of jasper and carnelian.  Rev 4:2-3  There is a lot of mention of precious stones, metals, gold and colors when describing heaven.  It must be truly beautiful and magnificent there.
God Bless You, Helen
Rain brings great relief in our desert terrain and the rainbow that follows is a sign of hope.
Genesis 9:16
"Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
