Joy

Today my husband came in from spraying the weeds and smelled like a combination of motor oil and gasoline. I asked him if I could get him a clean shirt. He replied, "It's only on my hands." My thought, It's not only on your hands. So I went into the laundry room and got out some Febreeze. As he approached me, I sprayed him several times in the chest, then I laughed uproariously. He, on the other hand, didn't think it was nearly as funny as I did:)
I feel blessed for the humor God has put into my life by way of funny family and friends. They are not sarcastic or hurtful in their humor, just playful. I believe God has a sense of humor as well since we are made in his image (Gen. 1:27) and we enjoy laughing, so must He. He tells us many times in scripture to "rejoice" (Phil. 4:4) and one of the nine fruits of the Spirit is joy (Gal. 5:22).
It seems the closer my relationship with God through reading and studying the scriptures, spending time in prayer and with godly friends, the more God infuses pure joy into my life. Thank you Lord!

Job 8:21
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.
