Guilty as Charged

Today as I was reading Isaiah chapter 6 it spoke to me in a new way. I had read it before, sections of it were even underlined in red no less. But the wonderful thing about the Word of God is that although it never changes, and the God who wrote it is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow...I change and I require different guidance from another perspective, another angle and God's Word does just that for me.
The chapter speaks of a vision Isaiah has of "the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple" (Is. 6:1). As he goes on to describe seraphs calling out, "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory" (Is. 6:3),  Isaiah realizes his humanness and cries out about being "a man of unclean lips"(Is. 6:5). One of the seraphs flys over to him with a live coal and touch it to Isaiah's lips and tells him, "your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for" (Is. 6:6-7). Then he hears the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And Isaiah responds, "Here am I. Send me!" (Is. 6:8).
I am guilty as charged, a woman of unclean lips, but God took away my guilt through the sacrifice of His own Son as an atonement for my sins. This is something of course I know, but the reminder of the atonement was one thing, the reminder of the removal of guilt was one of those forgotten things. If I am in the Lord and He is in me, I am no longer guilty. That is not to say I am no longer a sinner or no longer need to ask God for forgiveness when I do sin, but the judgment is in, "Not guilty!"
God's gavel has pounded and the courtroom can cheer, I'm free from the bondage of sin and death, since Christ died in my place on the cross. Thank you Lord and forgive me for gathering up guilt and dragging it around like a ball and chain. You have touched my lips with Your refining fire, melting away my chains. Amen. KT
My stepson has become a police officer. His job is to arrest people based upon whether they have broken a law or not. Then it is up to the judge and the jury to decide whether the person is guilty as charged.
Mark 3:28 Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”
