Happy Father's Day!
I talked to my dad today on the phone and he was outside cooking pork chops. He loves to cook and to eat. I inherited both of these traits:) My dad's father owned his own restaurants, my dad's two brothers both had restaurants, my dad's half-sister and his cousin both still own restaurants. It's a food family! In fact, my dad taught my mom how to cook when they were first married (which will be 60 years ago in September).
I was blessed to be raised by a father with integrity and work ethic. I remember complaining to my dad in my teens about my job and my dad turning to me and replying, "If you don't want to do the work then don't take the paycheck." He gave me advice later in my life that helped me through a rocky time in my marriage. Thanks dad for being a solid, respectable, responsible and caring role model in my life. I love you!
To my Father God, thank you for changing my life completely. I was lost and you found me. I was worldly and you loved me anyway. Thank you for sending your Son to the cross so that I can one day spend eternity with you and the family of God. But even before that day comes, just being a child of the Most High God has given me peace, pleasure and assurance that without You I would never have had on my own. I pray your Father's Day has been full of souls being saved by choosing Your Son as Savior and Lord today. I know that is a free gift you give us and one that you would love more than anything to have us all choose. Amen.

Luke 2:49 (A young Jesus asks his parents the following when he gets separated from his family...)
“Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”
