Full Armor of Faith

     It's amazing to me the protective gear they have for kids today. Actually the direction the world is going in today makes me think we should all wear this equipment! According to the Phoenix news channel lately, we've had people shot randomly coming home from work in the early morning hours, walking down the street at night and even in their own homes by family members. I realize in a city of over 3 million people, even if one percent are violent, we'll have our share of murders, but it's still alarming. 

     We can't walk around in a suit of armor or a Kevlar bullet resistant vest, at least not as a normal, everyday citizen, especially since it was over 110 degrees here today. So what can we do to protect ourselves and our loved ones? Yes, we can wear our seat belts, not drink and drive, etc., but for the most part, anything can happen no matter how much we've done to avoid injury, harm or assault. 

     What we can do is pray. Pray, simply talk to Jesus Christ, and tell Him our concerns for the safety of our family, friends, and ourselves. We can ask God to intervene and protect us and our loved ones quietly in our hearts. Then we can rest in the peace of God. If we have no peace, then our faith is wavering, because we have an awesome God, bigger than any evil that exists in the world today. 

     Let's have faith, even as small as mustard seed, and we can move mountains, nothing will be impossible for us! (Matthew 17:20).

Ephesians 6:¹⁰ Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. ¹¹ Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. ¹² For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ¹³ Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, ¹⁵ and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. ¹⁶ In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. ¹⁷ Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
