Godly Citizen
Today was a typical Sunday for us, church, rest, newspaper, all that good stuff. Our pastor's message was exceptional as well. He spoke to the idea that we are to do all our work as if working unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23:24). That even if we have bosses that don't know the Lord or worse they are not nice people in general, we are still to do our work in a way that glorifies God.
He also mentioned the political scene today and that even if we had all Christian ideals in the laws and all Christian leaders, that wouldn't be enough to lead all the people to salvation in Christ Jesus. So rather than get caught up in the division that politics can cause, be a godly citizen, make a difference and yes, vote your viewpoint. But don't allow a difference in your political views with another person be the reason that person will be turned off by you and thus "your religion." It's more important to save souls than to gain votes.

Liberty works best when we all do our part to work hard and respect one another.
Ephesians 6:5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.
9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.
I will definately reread this prior to going back to work. The 20 years at the Bank helped me realize that this verse is the only way to really work and I know the Lord used me when I was working for Him.
