Heart Wired for God

     Today I went for tests at the cardiologist's office. They are basically baseline tests since I have a family history of cardiovascular disease and on our recent trip to Israel I had some small issues. So they took blood, looked at my heart through an ultrasound and my neck arteries through an MRI then had me run on a treadmill while attached to electrical leads monitoring my heart. All seemed to go well and the final step was to strap on a device that I wear for 24 hours which records any irregular heart patterns.
     All that seems a bit much, but I'm glad my doctor is thorough, just like my God. God knows my heart without the need of any wire devices. (Luke 16:15, Psalm 44:21) God knows when my ticker is off, not beating to the right drummer. It's reassuring to me to know that when my heart is aching, breaking or jumping for joy, my God knows immediately without monitors or recordings of my heartbeat.
     I can give my heart to God and know He will handle it with tender loving care, since He's my maker and creator. As I watched my heart beating on the ultrasound screen, the valves looks like gospel singers clapping their hands to the rhythm of life. They seemed to be praising God with each beat!

God's creations are precious in His sight.
