Fleeting Feelings
I had lunch with a friend today and she has entered into the world of education, a field I have studied and/or worked in for over 30 years now. A recent event, at the school she works, sent her world into a bit of a tailspin. She was enjoying her new job, getting to know the teachers and students when wham, a fight broke out in a classroom she was working in. The students and staff alike were in danger, but could not get any assistance.
As we debriefed over the phone and some at lunch today about the event, it occurred to both of us that she had witnessed not only a physical battle, but a spiritual battle. Both of which scared her and made her question the work she, just a week ago, loved.
Satan loves to scare us off and send us running with out tail between our legs. I've allowed fear, which is not of God, to keep me from accomplishing what I had felt at the beginning was just what God wanted me to do. Did God change His mind? Not likely. We have to get beyond it being about us and our fears and make it about achieving something bigger than us, something God-sized. Not because we need to be glorified, but because He is worthy and has assigned us work on this earth to accomplish in His strength.

My friend hit the nail on the head when she said this about God, "He's stronger than my feelings..." Feelings tell us what we want to hear at the time, but God tells us what He knows we need to hear and what we need to do, even in spite of our fears.
We are children of the Most High God, of the royal family, thus in His protective custody.
Isaiah 41:13 For I am the Lord your God
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
I'm so blessed that I can read your blogs of encouragement, lessons and strength in the Lord on a daily basis. You really bless my soul. I am really praying the Lord turn my feelings into faith. Love you Kate.
