Getting It My Way
As I was getting my hair cut and colored today, (no I'm not a true blond:) my hairstylist was talking about her mother being desperately ill and having contracted several illnesses over the last ten years. She's distraught since her mother is not a Christian and she's afraid her mom will die before she gives her life over to Jesus.
At a recent stay in the hospital her mother was asking her husband to smuggle in cookies and junk food. Since she's a diabetic, the hospital wouldn't provide her with such food items. She said her father was probably going to do it, since as my stylist said, "My dad never tells my mom 'no.'"
It made me think about myself and how sometimes I want what I want, even though it is not good for me. God being a loving Father, does not honor my wishes to "get my way." God is not an enabler. But often that doesn't stop me from pushing forward without Him. Those times in my life when I have been stubborn and prideful and demanded my way, my rights, and my will have had some of the worst outcomes; some with consequences that have lasted a lifetime.

"Getting it Your Way" may be the worst way. Instead, stop and pray so you "Get it God's Way."
Zechariah 7:11
“But they refused to pay attention; stubbornly they turned their backs and covered their ears.
