No Regrets
This morning as my husband and I sat on the patio watching our dog do her morning rounds, I mentioned a situation from my past of which I could not let go. Even as I spoke, the tears began to form at the corners of my eyes. He shared his perspective on the event and noted I needed to put it behind me and move on. I often hear cavalier comments about living life with "no regrets" and as a Christian, I think that's even more important for me to remember.
After salvation, all my life is in the Lord's hands and although I have free will and can easily mess up, He is always there to help and forgive me, if I'm truly repentant. The situation above, I have given over to God a number of times and even asked for forgiveness from those involved, some of which have responded with forgiveness. And yet it keeps surfacing in my mind.
What am I trying to get out of this episode that hasn't already been done? Am I trying to get a "do over" so I can prove if it happened again, I'd do it differently? Maybe, but that will not happen, so now what? Forgive myself and move on, no regrets; I guess that does have a ring to it.

James 3:2 We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
3 When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4 Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5 Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
