Shod Your Feet

I have amazing friends! I put out an email four days ago that noted I wanted to collect 60 pairs of socks in honor of my parents' 60th wedding anniversary tomorrow. Today, I have 121 pairs of socks! The great thing about it, is that the Hanes company is going to match all the pairs turned in by tomorrow to the Phoenix Rescue Mission so that will be 242 pair of socks for the needy! Thanks to all my friends, you are the best!
Speaking of feet, let's read Ephesians 6:14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. My husband watches the History channel and a recent show on King Tutankhamun noted that King Tut had a degenerative foot disorder in one foot which may have led to his untimely death. They surmised that he used one of several walking staffs found in his tomb to walk and that he may have been thrown off balance while hunting or in battle fallen, broken his leg and then died of complications. The archaeologists figured all of this out due to advanced imaging of the boy king's skeleton.
As Christian's our feet are also vital to our walk with God. We need to be willing to move where He wants us to go, thus not staying in our comfortable routine. Our walk will be hampered if we get off balance in our lives and spend too much time on things that have no eternal value. When thrown off balance, by being out of the Word and God's Will, we too can fall while in battle with the principalities of this world, lose our footing and worse, lose our peace.

Romans 5:5 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.
