A Complainer

I never thought I was a complainer. In a recent women's Bible study, the leader talked about how complaining is a sin. When I complain, I am saying that what God has done for me, including the death of His Son on the cross, is not good enough. Otherwise, I'd be grateful, thankful, and praising God for His good gifts.
Wow, I am definitely a complainer. So, I prayed that God would forgive me and help me be grateful and able to see His blessings in my day. Now, this prayer was a bit like when I pray to God to give me patience, if you've ever prayed for patience, you know what I'm talking about. God's gifts are free, but they aren't always easy!
So the major freeway I travel on to work was closed, in both directions, due to a turned over big rig this morning. Lord, thank you that I have a car and gasoline to drive to work. My drive to work took one and a half hours to go 20 miles. Lord, thank you that I was not in the accident where someone lost their life. I pray for the families that are grieving.
At work the travel department called a half hour before I was to go home, telling me they would not reimburse my travel claim (which I turned in over a week ago) unless I wrote a letter explaining a purchase, drive across town, get it signed by a boss I've barely met and don't know where his office is, then turn it in by 5:00pm because the travel secretary will be out tomorrow and it must be in by tomorrow to be on this pay check. (Oh, and I'm at a conference tomorrow, not in the office). Lord, are you kidding me!? You are going to have to do something before I go ballistic! He did take care of it, but I only made it half a day without complaining.
Sorry Lord, I'll try again tomorrow...
Philippians 2:14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky 16 as you hold firmly to the word of life.
