Satan Roaming Back and Forth

Job 1:6 One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them. ⁷ The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”

Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it.”

     While at the zoo the first of the year, I saw a white tiger pacing the area along the fence line. I could see where he had worn a path in the dirt from constantly going back and forth. He had bent the fence as well from pushing on it with his mighty paws. When I moved on, I found that there was another tiger next door to him, and guessed he was probably trying to get to his neighbor. 
     Satan is trying to do the same with us. He is "roaming through the earth and going back and forth" to get to us. The Bible says, "the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." We must be firmly footed in the Word of God, as our weapon against Satan, with our "shield of faith" in place to ward off his fiery arrows. Most importantly, we need our "helmet of salvation" which was bought with a great price, the life of Christ.
     If you believe in the Bible, but you don't believe in the devil, you have taken it upon yourself to edit the inspired Word of God, because He clearly warns us about Satan. He doesn't say the devil is a bad thought or our flesh, He says, "our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against...the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." So before you take on the role of editor in chief of the Holy Word of the Most High God, pray and see if He doesn't show you His truth to be real in this present day and in the days to come.

1 Peter 5:8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.⁹ Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

^{Ephesians 6:10} Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. ¹¹ Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. ¹² For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.¹³ Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, ¹⁵ and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. ¹⁶ In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. ¹⁷ Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. ¹⁸ And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
