Coming Home

We just returned from two weeks in Israel and have many wonderful stories and photos to share. Tonight though, I'll talk about "coming home." My husband and I went to Israel last year, at this same time, with our Arizona church family. This year, we went with our Oregon church family. Both trips were similar as far as places that we visited, but quite different as far as the experiences, teachings, and the emotional impact I felt leaving this time.
There is something about Israel that feels like "home" to me. We have traveled to a lot of foreign countries and to many cities within the United States, but nothing feels quite like Jerusalem. It's as though God's presence is stronger there, deeper there, and the spirits of the apostles roam the streets.
The Jews say that when you come to Israel, you are "coming home." In fact, when we were leaving, our waiter said, "I hope you'll 'come home' again soon." This time, I left a bit of my heart in God's keeping while standing under the full moon at the Western Wall on Shabbat, while praying at sunrise on a mountain overlooking the Sea of Galilee, and as I stood in the Garden of Gethsemane looking over at the Eastern Gates where the Messiah, Jesus Christ, will one day walk through those barricaded gates on His way up to the Temple Mount.
Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May those who love you be secure."

  1. wow what a beautiful expierence. Thank you my friend for inviting me to expierence your expierences in Israel. I believe that the feelings you have and the love and compassion for Israel is totally God orchestrated. I have shared my love and compassion for Israel also, and I know that I have a mission to visit Israel and a very touching message God has right there for me, to go and pick up and recieve. My friend Heather and I low and behold, have the same love, compassion and a mission to fulfill together as she will be going with me, when we are directed from God. We are going to continue to pray about this, and also present it to our church. We know that Obedience is what we must do when Jesus places on a mission or simply in our everyday life. Obedience is a beautiful factor and a God given quality, to obey, to believe and to receive. When one has a special God given task, they must fulfill it. God is awesome and so are you my friend, love and blessings to you and I am excited about my God given friendship to you all, in Jesus name, I am blessed to have had my friend share her blog spot and webpage with me. All the Glory to God. Now check out Facebook cause I am going to blast it there also. Hallelujah, to the lamb of God. Have a blessed day, and go out and shine and be all you can be in the name of Jesus. Kelly
