Hot or Cold
Yesterday my car dash thermometer registered 118 and today 121. We have extreme heat here every summer, yet no one seems to adjust to it. On the news, men and women interviewed said, "This is hot!" "This is too hot!" But I guarantee you around January these same people will be saying, "This is cold!" "This is very cold!" We, as humans, are extremely hard to please and seem to forever find something wrong with every situation.
But God wants us to be "hot" in our worship and relationship with Him. He wants us "on fire" for Him. If we are cold, we likely have never accepted Jesus Christ as our savior, thus do not represent God in any way. But God doesn't want us to be "lukewarm" either. Lukewarm Christians make no difference and at times cause others to walk away from the Lord or never get any closer. They claim to represent Jesus Christ, but are afraid to take a stand or do nothing but take stands on issues that do not represent the heart of God.
Many avid sports fans show enormous enthusiasm for their favorite teams by painting their faces, wearing clothes with team logos as well as crazy hats with their teams' colors. As Christians our joy and gratitude in the Lord and for the Lord should be as obvious and apparent. The Word tells us who ultimately wins, the final score to those on God's team is eternal life with Him verses those that are lukewarm choosing no god or those cold individuals choosing Satan who will receive eternal life separated from God.
Let's catch fire as a Christian community. Let's join God's team and make a way for others to come on board. Let's not be fire extinguishers by complaining, moaning and groaning about life.
I'm thankful to know and love the Lord Jesus Christ. May my zeal be intentional, fueled by trust in the Holy Spirit, time in the Word of God, and prayer to God's Son who died to save me.

Revelations 3: 14 These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
So true!
