Lost to be Found

On Wednesday, a childhood friend came to visit. We spent the day going to different sites in our town and had a wonderful picnic in a desert regional park. Our husbands joined us and we spent the day reminiscing and enjoying good food and lots of laughs.
The next day, I received a text from my friend that she had lost her 14K gold hoop earring and asked that we look for it. My husband and I got out the flashlights and scoured the truck. Then looked house over. No earring. Then the Lord gave me a picture of our day's events; I say "the Lord" because the picture was of something insignificant and wouldn't have been memorable for any other reason then He was helping me find that which was lost.
The picture was of my girlfriend pulling her hair back into a ponytail while be were at the park. I assumed that she must have pulled out her earring while performing the task. I told my husband the vision, he was game to go look. We had other errands that needed to be done first and then we attempted to make our way to the park. I say "attempted" as we had unusually slow traffic, got lost, and really didn't want to pay the $6.00 entry fee to go into the park if for not. Finally, after saying, "Alright I give up!" We found our way right to the road we needed to turn off to the park, and so we went.
At the gate, I informed the ranger of our intentions to simply see if the earring was at the site. He let us in free of charge and we drove the four miles to the picnic spot. I parked away from the area to ensure I didn't run over the earring. My husband went directly to the table and found the earring laying on the ground behind where my friend was sitting. In photographs of the day, her earring was clearly missing, but none of us noticed it even after being together another 7 hours!
When I called my friend to tell her of our find, she was full of joy and even texted me "thanks again" later. I called another friend and told her of God's faithfulness and specificity in answering our prayer about the lost gold hoop earring.
Only God knows why things happened as they did, but the reality is that a mighty God sent a simple  message specifically to me so that I could help my friend and learn a lesson about faith and perseverance. Thank you Lord! He is an expert at helping the lost to be found.
Luke 15:8 “Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
