That was easy!

One of the office retailers has ads that infer all you have to do is push a button and all your office problems will be taken card of, noting, "That was easy!" We like the idea that life could be that simple. That one push of a button and problems are resolved. Of course, those of us planted in reality know that life is not that easy.
Although the most important decision of our lives is one that we have made much more complicated than it needs to be. What is that area? Going to heaven when we die. Simply put, the decision to accept Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior is easy, but again, made complicated by human baggage and over thinking.
A friend's grandmother is ill and over 100 years old. She's struggling with pain due to a recent fall. I believe due to her past "religious" experiences, accepting that Christ died for her sins so that she could one day join Him in God's sin-free zone, heaven, has been faught with stigmas and dilemmas, hurtles and roadblocks that are simply not necessary. So the information below is what I shared with my friend, maybe you have friends that needs to hear the simple truth of the gospel. Please pass this prayer along to them:
I'm sorry about Gran's sadness, I'm sure the uncertainty of the end of days is frightening. Does she know where she's going upon dying? If she says "heaven" does she know how she will be invited in? You may want to go over that with her as a way to relieve her fears. You might just walk her through the "sinner's prayer" by saying something like, "Gran do you want to ensure you'll go to heaven when it's your time to leave this earth? If so, just pray this simple prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your gift of eternal life in heaven. I know I'm a sinner and do not deserve eternal life. But You loved me so much You died on the cross for me and rose from the grave to purchase a place in Heaven for me. I now put my faith and trust in You alone and repent of my sin. Please take Your rightful place in my life as Lord and Savior. Thank you for your forgiveness and salvation. Amen.
You can remind her that if she says that simple prayer and believes in faith that Jesus is the Son of God and died for her and forgave ALL her sins (past, present and future), she is saved and she will go to heaven when her time on earth is done.
Sometimes we just need a reminder that walking with Christ is not complicated and there's nothing we can do to earn it. He paid the price on the cross for us. We just need to walk in faith and believe.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
