Eternity with God
During a long conversation with a friend yesterday, we both lamented the direction in which our world is going. She said she had to stop watching as much news since it was causing her to lose hope. I have another friend that has banished news from her home for years for similar reasons. But as Christians we must not despair, since our Savior and Lord offers us Good News! The good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
As Billy Graham noted in his book, Hope for Each Day, on page 368, "By a simple prayer of faith ask Christ into your life right now. He will come in, and you will be born again!" This second birth is not of your flesh, but of your spirit. You are making a choice to follow God as your one and only god, believing He sent His Son as a living sacrifice for your sins. You didn't choose your first birth, but you can choose your second, and this spiritual rebirth leads to everlasting life in heaven: eternity with God.
Then as I Chronicles 22:19 reminds us, "Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the Lord your God."
