Remembering Teddy

With sadness and yet hope, I thank those that prayed for our church family who had a baby born with a heart defect. The little boy lived 11 weeks. His memorial was today. The celebration of his life was poignant. His grandfather spoke of his impact on the hospital staff during his short life. He brought joy even though he was suffering with three heart operations and tubes continually in his body. He laughed, smiled, and "talked" with those that came to visit him. His mother read letters she had written to him before his birth and after his death. Tears streamed down the faces of those in the audience.
Questions were raised, "Have we, with all our years on this earth, had the impact that Teddy had on others in just 79 days? What legacy are we leaving this world when we die?" I leave you with those same questions.
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord may you ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in the answers to these questions for your lives. If you haven't asked Jesus into your life and need guidance and direction, you must be willing to accept that you are a sinner saved only by grace. You must believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and came to earth as a man to live, then died on the cross carrying all our sins, and then rose from the grave to be seen by over 500 people. Later He ascend into heaven to be at the right Hand of God. He is our advocate to God. God sees us through the filter of His Son since Christ's death paid the price for our sins so that we can die knowing we will one day live with God in heaven. Believe in faith and you will be saved. If you doubt, ask God to help you with your unbelief. He is faithful and willing that none should perish.
Mark 9:17-24
17 A man in the crowd answered, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. 18 Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not.”
19 “You unbelieving generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.”
20 So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.
21 Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?”
“From childhood,” he answered. 22 “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.”
23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
