Free Will
It's interesting that after posting a Christian message on my college forum another student replied that she was a behaviorist as she believed in free will. I wanted to respond, but felt I needed to restrain myself. But to think that God is about anything but free will is disillusionment. That is deception on the part of Satan to encourage people to think that God wants to determine our path and make our lives go according to His plan without our will.
Here's the twist, once you believe in God, you only want His will for your life because you realize He does all that He does for you out of love. He desires the best and like a loving parent will deny you things that He knows will not be good for you, will bring you grief, and not relief. He loves us unconditionally so even when we do choose to go our own ways, wander in the wilderness, and live sinful lives, He waits. He encourages. He draws us back to Him. Not because He needs us, but because we need Him.
I call that not only free will, but God's will, which is better than anything I could ever choose for myself. Praise you Father God! Praise your Holy Name! Help us all to return to you before we choose to go so far from you that we won't choose to return and then upon our deaths we'll be out of choices.

Revelation 3:20 (NIV)
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

I'm grateful that despite our many failures and trips away, He leaves the 99 to retrieve the one. Great insight as always my friend....as well as restraint.
