Weary & Uninspired

A friend texted to ask for my blog address. I sent it, but noted I hadn't been writing in it lately. She replied that she had been looking for inspiration. I retorted, "Look to the Lord!" But this response was exactly what I needed to hear, even though it came from my own mouth. The business of life has kept me a bit weary and uninspired of late. A recent cold with fever, coughing, and constant nose blowing has left me physically tired. The combination of spiritual and physical fatigue is a recipe for disaster!
I have been studying the Word lately, especially since I've been leading discussion at a women's Bible study on Tuesdays. And although I'm especially struck by God's grace and goodness while reading, it's as if my brain has some sort of mental Teflon coating it, keeping the Lord's promises from sticking. I must remember to lift my eyes to the heavens and look to the Lord for help, rest, support, and the strength to glorify Him in all my ways and throughout all my days.
Psalm 121:1-2, 7-8: I lift up my eyes to the mountains--where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earthThe LORD will keep you from all harm--he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
