Not Forgotten by Father God
Recently, it was reported in on our local television news that a transient man had been murdered in the woods and they were attempting to gather more information from the public about this man or the incident. During our recent trips to my husband's radiation treatments, we had seen other men with signs asking for food or money in the area where this man used to beg.
I began wondering about this man and who he belonged to; who had loved him. When he was a baby just born, did they celebrate his birth? If so, what had gone wrong in the 51 years since then that he was beaten to death and left to die alone, forgotten in a wooded area. Had the path been his alone to choose or had circumstances and events in his life driven him into hiding from life and it's responsibilities.
Regardless of our choices, Father God loves us and not just as cute little babies, but even as grown up sinners. He doesn't see our filthy clothes or hear our raunchy language, but he knows our souls and who made us. He made us to be in relationship with him, our Almighty Father, Creator, and God. But in his love, he also allowed us to reject him and go our own ways, take our own paths. But our own paths come without the protection of the Father, just as this man was no longer protected by his human father. In fact, no one was there any more to help this man fend off the evil one that sought to take his life.
Father God, I wish you a Father's Day where we, as your created, treat each other with the love, kindness, and gentleness you would want us to pass along in Your Name. May we bless you, by blessing others and not leaving those you love, unprotected, hurting, and forgotten.

Ecclesiastes 9:5
For the living know that they will die;
But the dead know nothing,
And they have no more reward,
For the memory of them is forgotten.
