One Step at a Time
Photos! Mountains of photos! I was lamenting to my husband that I was overwhelmed thinking about starting a new scrapbook as there were just too many photographs to wade through. He said, in his always steadfast manner, "Well, just do two pages." His advice was entirely too easy! I had worrying to do first. Where should I start? What if the photos get out of sequence? What if I leave one out that is particularly special, then regret it later? The worries bombarded my mind!
Then the Lord reminded me, "Climbing a mountain begins with one step." So often I get caught up in the numerous steps, that (I think) must be taken that I can't begin at all. My husband has always been a great influence, in that regard, as he just begins. Just begin...one step at a time...that's what I needed to do.
But first, I would read God's Word. Even if it may have been a ploy to procrastinate, God had other ideas. Here are some excerpts from my scripture reading for today: I Chronicles 22:13, this was King David to his son, Solomon, regarding building the temple for the arc of the covenant, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged." Next step, from I Chronicles 22:16, "Now begin the work and the LORD be with you." Final step, from I Chronicles 22:19, "Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the LORD your God."
Thank you Lord for quickly showing me in Your Word how I am to tackle this next mountain, one step at a time, devoting my heart and soul to You.

It is better to finish something than to start it and to be patient than to be prideful.
