Tribute to Rev. Billy Graham
As I start this new day wondering about my purpose and influence on the people and world around me, my thoughts go to Rev. Billy Graham and a life well lived. He passed away yesterday to be joined in heaven with the Lord. But in his honor, I want to list a few of quotes from Dr. Billy Graham (from the website Goodreads.com):
The will of God will not take us where the grace of God cannot sustain us.
It is the Holy Spirit's job to convict, God's job to judge and my job to love.
God never takes away something from your life without replacing it with something better.
I've read the last page of the Bible, it's all going to turn out all right.
When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are often stiffened.
(Prayer) Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, "Woe to those who call evil good," but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!
May we contemplate Dr. Graham's words and prayers today and evaluate our own intentional decisions to honor God with our words, actions, and deeds. Will we one day hear, as I'm certain Billy Graham heard upon entering the pearly gates of heaven, "Well done, good and faithful servant"?

Matthew 25:21
"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things;
I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'"
