Keep Calm
Today is the Presidential Inauguration of Joe Biden, our 46th President of the United States. On January 6 of this year, people carrying Trump flags and wearing Trump hats and shirts broke into the United States Capital. Lives were lost and chaos reigned that day.
Let's pray together today, January 20, 2021 that people will keep calm, remain calm, and avoid any further loss of lives touting political beliefs. Let's pray that we will remember that life is sacred. All life... regardless...nevertheless...is sacred.
Anger, revenge, jealously, and envy are emotions sure to flame the fires of people's hearts. But the Bible reminds us, "A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel" (Proverbs 15:18.) And, "Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end" (Proverbs 29:11). Let's pray for wisdom to rule the day, not foolishness which leads to chaos. Let's all keep calm. Amen.
Ecclesiastes 10:4 If a ruler's anger rises against you, do not leave your post; calmness can lay great offenses to rest.
