A Very Valuable Valentine

Today is Valentine's Day, a day of letting those you love know how you feel about them. I was reading in Romans this morning and noticed a very valuable Valentine, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). The gift of a life time...an eternal offering of hope.

Today, if you want to know true love, simply read and apply the steps offered in Acts 2:36-39:

"Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah." When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off--for all whom the Lord our God will call."

God invites each of us into a relationship with Him through the sacrifice of His Only Son, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Now that is a very valuable Valentine, a special note to God's creations that He will forgive them and draw them back to Him, if we will only tell Him that we recognize our sins, want to turn away from them, and choose His love offering, Jesus Christ, as our Savior and Lord.

The most valuable Valentine invitation has been delivered to us, now it is up to us, to reach out and take it as our own. If you choose Christ Jesus today, welcome to the royal family of God. Start reading His love letter to His followers, The Holy Bible. He tells us all we need to know in His Book about how to live our lives as children of the Most High God.

Exodus 34:6-7 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin.
