Jesus Prays for You!

I love that Jesus knew we would be weary and burdened. He tells us in Matthew 11:28-30, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." I don't know about you, but I have been weary lately, and it feels good to know that Jesus saw this coming and provided provision.

In Psalm 23, David told of the ways that the LORD provided rest for him. Jesus provides the same rest for us today, even in the chaos and turmoil of this present world. He shepherds us; guides us in the way we should go through His Holy Spirit. He prays for us; intercedes on our behalf at the right hand of the Father. He shelters us; he's building a room onto His Father's house for us, right now.

First, Jesus did not leave us alone. He gave us a heavenly counselor to help us according to John 14:26, "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." Secondly, Jesus talks to God about us, now that is powerful intercession! The Bible tells us, "Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the One who died, but even more, has been raised; He also is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us" (Romans 8:34 HCSB). Lastly, Jesus wants us to live with Him and be at peace, one day. He said, "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also" (John 14:1-3 NKJV).

Pray today to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. Tell Him you need Him to guide you by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit of God, that you want Him to intercede on your behalf in heaven to God, and that you, one day, want to live in His Father's house as a child of God. Tell Him you believe He's the Son of God, who died on the cross for your sins, and that you know He was raised from the dead three days later overcoming death. If you believe these truths in your heart by faith in Jesus Christ, you are saved, thus you can put your hope in Jesus Christ and have the peace that He will carry your burdens with you.

Psalm 23:3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
