Endurance to Move Forward

Endurance is essentially the ability to keep going when things around you are getting you down. It could relate to mental endurance when you are filled with anxiety or physical endurance when you must make your body lift another box at work or run another lap for your health. Can we make ourselves keep moving forward, when we feel worn-out, wrung-out, and not interested in going out?

The Bible offers many scriptures to encourage those unable to endure anymore of life's strife, here's just a few:

Philippians 4:6-7: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, with transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Isaiah 41:10: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand

2 Timothy 1:7: For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through him [Jesus Christ] who strengthens me.

What these scripture say to me is that God doesn't expect us to keep ourselves moving forward, rather He wants us to depend on His peace, His righteousness, His Spirit, and His Son to have endurance when we are mentally and physically undone. Reach out in prayer and imagine God reaching down with His righteous right hand and giving you a lift up right now. Then rest assured that He is able, even when you are not able to take one more step forward. He will make a way, where there is no way. Jesus is the Way.

Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
